Akon Shows Support to Rick Ross
posted on Aug 06, 2008
Recent beef between Rick Ross and a website TheSmokingGun.com, which keep attacking him about his criminal problems, attracted many attention from other hip-hop artists including from Akon. The producer/singer showed his support to Rick saying, "It'll only affect Ross if Ross allows it to affect him."
Akon then compared the attacks Rick have been having with the one that comes to him in the past stating, "Had I gone out and entertained the article, it would have blew the article out of proportion. Wherever they got their facts or information from, let that be what it is. You got your story out, thank you very much. I bow to it and keep it moving. Now, if you wanna entertain it, then you're gonna open up more worms you probably don't want open."
UGK brought hip hop singer Akon on his latest single "Hard as Hell". The track is the first single off UGK's album "For Life". Check out the track here!
Akon previously considered retiring from the music industry after collaborating with king of pop Michael Jackson. However, the "Smack That" singer decided not to make retirement anymore though he had fulfilled one of his lifelong ambitions, recording a duet with his childhood idol. "That was a dream come true. I had a wish list of all the collaborations I ever wanted to do. Mike was at the top. I was saying, 'Well, if ever I get to Mike, then that'll be the sign I can retire.' But I got to Mike 10 years earlier than I expected. So I decided not to make retirement goals anymore," the 30-year-old hip hop crooner told MTV.
The Senegalese singer teamed up with Michael for a new track called "Hold My Hand". The track will be featured on Akon's forthcoming album "Acquitted". "Mike is on the album. He's already got the prime slot," said the singer who has also worked with Whitney Houston on "Like I Never Left".
