Akon will be heading to South Africa, where he will perform on June 5 at The Arena, Grand West in Cape Town for a mission to fight human trafficking ahead of the 2010 World Cup.
"The benefits of an African World Cup for the continent are well-documented. But what isn't so clear is how Africans will be affected by the Unsavoury elements the event will attract. Bearing this in mind, we need to be extra vigilant when it comes to protecting the legacy of the 2010 Soccer World Cup," the Grammy-nominated superstar said.
In the album news, Akon is currently gearing up for his fourth solo album called "stadium," that will feature a lot of dance music.
"We are bringing the stadium to your living room. It's high-energy dance music mixed with a little international sounds and hip-hop. It's a whole new sound," Akon told VIBE Magazine. "The concept of the song (Nosey Neighbors) is I'm in a condo, I have binoculars, I'm looking through this window and I see this girl and she's looking extremely incredible and she's undressing. I'm kind of spying on her, but I'm not quite sure if she knows it because she never looks at my direction. Everything she's doing is taunting me to keep me watching. The record is crazy. This one is an up-tempo dance club record with hard hip hop drums in it."
